Small Business Innovation Research

The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program is a highly competitive program that encourages domestic small businesses to engage in Federal Research/Research and Development (R/R&D) that has the potential for commercialization. Through a competitive awards-based program, SBIR enables small businesses to explore their technological potential and provides the incentive to profit from its commercialization. By including qualified small businesses in the nation's R&D arena, high-tech innovation is stimulated and the United States gains entrepreneurial spirit as it meets its specific research and development needs.

Tekquest teamed with KR Systems, Inc. to build both public and private websites for the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program Office at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Patuxent River, Maryland.

The first site deployed is a private intranet which will allows internal training and collaboration between support staff, scientists and engineers at NAVAIR.

The second site will replace the current public website, and is currently in development. It's purpose will be to educate and provide lifecycle training for small businesses pursuing research and development grants.
